<p>Other reputable universities outside the University Consortium but within the Southeast Asian region may also serve as study posts of scholars under special arrangements and project agreements.<br />

<strong>WHO MAY APPLY</strong><br />
The SEARCA Graduate Scholarship is open to nationals of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam who are regular employees of academic, research or government institutions and not more than 35 years old at the time of application.</p>
<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong><br />

Interested parties may submit their accomplished SEARCA Scholarship Application form together with other original application requirements to their countries respective Ministries of Education, which will screen and endorse applications to SEARCA not later than 30 July 2012.</p>
<p>The applicant’s topic of research for thesis/dissertation must be in line with any of SEARCA’s priority thrusts, namely: Natural Resources Management and Agricultural Competitiveness.</p>
<p>Deadline for receiving of SEARCA scholarship applications will be set by the respective ministries.</p>

<p><strong>Program Description:</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">Japan Development Scholarships for Filipinos (JDS) is created to help the public employees in obtaining a Master’s (MS) Degrees at Japanese universities in order to provide a high quality human resource to the government of the Philippines and to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the Philippines and Japan. The fields of study offered are determined in accordance with the development issues in the Philippines which includes Public Administration, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, Industrial Development.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">Applicants must be a nationality of the Philippines and must be below 40 years of age as of April 1, 2010 (those who were born on/after April 2, 1970). You should be also a civilian government employee that is currently employed with permanent status and had a work experience in at least 2 years at the time of application. The performance rating of your work also must be of at least “very satisfactory” in the organization at the time of nomination. The academic background that you must also have should be Bachelor’s degree relevant to the target fields such as ICT and has not been awarded a foreign scholarship in Master’s Degree.</p>

<p dir="ltr">The ASEAN Foundation Research Scholarship aims to develop high quality human resource within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries. The program encourage the people to promote greater awareness of ASEAN and greater interaction among its people to undertake development cooperation activities that enhance mutual assistance, address equitable economic development and reduce poverty. The fields of study the scholarship offers are Developmental Studies, Environment, and Information and Communication Technology in Master’s (MS) Degrees which will be studied in Singapore. The host institution will be the National University of Singapore (NSU).</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">These scholarship are open to bonafide nationals of an ASEAN country except Singapore. Applicants must hold a good bachelors degree or its equivalent and posses a strong academic record. You must satisfy other admission requirements as specified by the faculty/school they apply to. Applicants must also submit a valid Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) result as evidence of your proficiency in the English language (for applicants whose native tongue or medium of university instruction is not English). If qualified, applicant must agree to return and/or serve for at least 2 years in any ASEAN countries after completion of their studies.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>How to Apply:</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">Applicants should complete the <a href="http://www.aseanfoundation.org/documents/form/2008_AF_scholarship_app_form.doc">ASEAN Foundation Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies Application Form</a> and submit together with the Application for Admission form and other supporting documents to the relevant Faculty/School. Applicants should also  indicate their interest in the Scholarship via the NUS Graduate Research Programme Application System. <p dir="ltr">The Nippon Foundation Fellowships for Asian Public Intellectuals offers two categories of fellowships/scholars which based on the applicant’s age. The API Senior Fellowships which are 40 years of age or more and API Fellowships for the age of below 40 years.This program promotes a mutual learning and create a community for public intellectuals in the Asian Countries. This targets those researchers, academics, media professionals, artists, creative writers, NGO activists, social workers, public servants and other moral authorities like those who work for the betterment of the society. The scholarship inclusions are stipend and housing allowance for the time spent overseas on the project in which the amount varies by country, international transportation costs (one round trip only), domestic transportation allowance, travel insurance during the fellowship period, research allowance for computer costs, field expenses, books, translation fees, etc. The current participating countries for this API Scholarships are Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. The fellowships/scholars must find their host institution(s) in the country where they will carry out the project.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">Applicants must hold the nationality or proper resident status in one of the participating countries and live in the country during the application for both API senior fellowships and API fellowships. They must also attend the interview at the designated date and place. The project proposal of the applicant must take place and should be accomplished within the period of July 1, 2012 to July 31, 2013 but the fellowship period must be continuous. For API senior fellowships, they must have the ability and experience to conduct research projects and/or professional activities in the participating countries other than the applicant’s native country or residence country. They could undertake the proposed research projects and/or professional activities in up to four (4) of the participating countries for continuous  period of between one (1) and twelve (12) months but in a country(ies) other than the applicant’s native country. They must also possess an ability, influence, and means to disseminate the results of their research projects and/or professional activities. Furthermore, the API fellowship must have the ability and desire to engage in research projects and/or professional activities in the participating countries other than the applicant’s native country. Like of the API senior fellowship, they must also undertake the proposed research projects and/or professional activities in the same period of time in two (2) of the participating countries.</p>

<div>The SEARCA Masters (MS)/PhD Scholarship Programme has a goal to response the global needs of Southeast Asia’s agricultural scientist and professionals to sustain international developmental issues. In Philippines, the University of the Philippines (UP) Los Baños, UP Diliman, and UP Visayas are the host institutions. The fields of study the program offers includes agriculture and related fields (biological sciences, social sciences, economics and statistics, forestry and fisheries, environmental sciences, agro-industrial technology and engineering, biochemistry and development management). It opens to all Southeast Asians who should be regular employees of academic or research institutions or government agencies. The benefits would cover the tuition and other school fees, books and supplies allowance, thesis/ dissertation support, health insurance, travel allowance including international and domestic transportation, and a stipend of $400/month for food, boarding and emergency expenses. The said scholars must have a topic of research for their thesis that relevant to or in line with any of the priority thrusts of SEARCA namely the agricultural competitiveness, sustainable land use and water management and biodiversity conservation.</div>

The Shouichi Yoshida Memorial<br />
Scholarship (SYMS) shall be granted to students of any nationality, coming from economically handicapped families and gifted intellectually. The field of specialization shall be agriculture and the fellowship shall be restricted to the first university degree to be operated only in institutes in the Philippines.</p>
<p><strong>GRANT</strong></p>
<p>Full scholarship offers a stipend of P2,000 per month for 10 months per school year for students from the University of the Philippines at Los Baños plus tuition, matriculation and miscellaneous school fees; P1,800 per month for 10 months per school year for students from other agricultural universities in the Philippines plus tuition, matriculation and miscellaneous school fees.</p>

<p>The financial condition needs to be certified by a government agency/institute in applicant’s country. This institute will likewise determine the standard of living in this particular country specifically the area where the applicant comes from. Information on the occupations and salaries of parents, brothers and sisters of the applicant will also be determined.</p>

High school honor graduate or belonging to the upper 5% of the graduating class.</p>
<p>The educational standard of the applicant’s country shall be considered. Through the country’s education agency/institution, the UPCAT exam shall be given to the applicant.</p>

<p>•	The grantee shall get a weighted average of at least 2.5 from at least 15 academic units per semester with no grades below 2.75 in both academic and non-academic subjects.<br />
•	The grantee shall submit his grades to the scholarship committee at the end of each semester, within one week after the final examination period, for evaluation.<br />
•	The grantee shall consult the designated adviser and the committee regarding plans for dropping a subject. The committee reserves the right to approve or disapprove dropping of subjects. The grantee will not be allowed to retain less than 15 academic units during a semester, except during the grantee’s last semester in college.<br />
•	The grantee shall not transfer to another school or college, nor change course, without consultation with and approval of the scholarship committee.<br />
•	The grant will be enjoyed for a period of 5 years or until the grantee graduates, whichever is shorter.<br />
•	The grantee shall automatically lose his scholarship, should he fail to meet the grade and number of credit requirement.</p>
<p>After graduation, the grantee is requested to keep the committee informed of his intellectual pursuits and progress once every 2-3 years.</p>

<p><strong>PROGRAM DESCRIPTION</strong><br />
Faculty for the Future fellowships are awarded to women from developing and emerging economies who are preparing for PhD or post-doctoral study in the physical sciences, engineering, or related disciplines to pursue advanced graduate study at top universities in their disciplines abroad.</p>
<p>Launched by the Schlumberger Foundation in 2004, Faculty for the Future has grown to become a community of 142 women from 43 countries.</p>
<p>The long-term goal of the Faculty for the Future program is to generate conditions that result in more women pursuing scientific disciplines. Grant recipients are therefore selected as much for their leadership capabilities as for their scientific talents, and they are expected to return to their home countries to continue their academic careers and inspire other young women.<br />
<strong>WHO MAY APPLY</strong><br />
Applicants must meet the following criteria:</p>
<p>Be a woman;<br />
Be a citizen of a developing country;<br />
Wish to pursue a PhD degree or Post-doctoral research in the physical sciences or related disciplines;<br />
Have applied to, have been admitted to, or are currently enrolled in a university abroad;<br />
Wish to return to their home country to continue their academic career upon completion of their studies;<br />
Be very committed to teaching and demonstrate active participation in faculty life and outreach work to encourage young women into the sciences;<br />
Hold an excellent academic record.</p>
<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong><br />
Applications are only accepted through the on-line system www.fftf.slb.com. Note that the on-line system will be open from September 1st to November 30th 2010.<br />
A successful application will have gone through five selection rounds, with the reviewers paying particular attention to the following criteria:</p>
<p>Academic performance;<br />
Quality of references;<br />
Quality of host country university;<br />
Level of commitment to return to home country;<br />
Commitment to teaching;<br />
Relevance of research to home country;<br />
Commitment to inspiring young women into the sciences.</p>
<p><strong>SCHOLARSHIP</strong><br />
Faculty for the Future grants are in the range of USD 25,000 to 50,000 per year—maximum USD 40,000 for postdoctoral studies— and may be renewed through to completion of studies subject to performance, self-evaluation, and recommendations from supervisors. The amount of the grant depends on the actual costs of studying and living in the chosen location.</p>

<p><strong>PROGRAM DESCRIPTION</strong><br />
The National Youth Commission will be sending twenty (20) young cadres to participate in the ASEAN Young Leaders Training Program from October 11 to 31, 2010.</p>
<p>The ASEAN Young Leaders Training Program is a key program launched by the All-China Youth Federation with the aim of enhancing friendly relationship between China and ASEAN countries and promoting the friendship and mutual trust of the young generations. During the three-week program, the attendees will learn basic Chinese language; study Chinese history, culture, politics, economy; visit enterprises, governments, schools, communities and rural areas in Guangxi and Beijing; and interact with Chinese youth.</p>
<p><strong>WHO MAY APPLY</strong></p>
<p>1.	Filipino citizen;<br />
2.	Must be 25 to 40 years old;<br />
3.	Must be able to communicate well in English both in listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills (English is the teaching language);<br />
4.	Willingness to participate in the discussions and activities<br />
5.	Physically fit to travel (Physical Examination Certificate is required)<br />
6.	Must have valid passport six months before the departure date of the program</p>

<p><strong>PROGRAM DESCRIPTION</strong><br />
It is a fellowships program that provides a grant to successful applicants to carry out a project during the fellowship period of one month to one year in a country or countries (currently confined to Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand).<br />
The API Fellowships Program offers two (2) categories of Fellowships: API Senior Fellowships and API Fellowships. The categorization is based essentially on the age of the applicant. </p>
<p><strong>WHO MAY APPLY</strong><br />
Anyone involved in the production and exchange of knowledge or ideas in line with the goals of API Fellowships Program. This includes academics, researchers, media professionals, artists, writers, NGO workers, social workers, public servants and others who work for the betterment of society. </p>
<p>General eligibility:<br />
- Applicants must hold the nationality or proper resident status in one of the five (5) Participating Countries and reside in the country at the time of application;<br />
- Applicants must attend an interview at a designated date and place;<br />
- The proposed project by the applicant must take place and should be completed within the period of July 1, 2011 to July 31, 2012 (Note: The fellowship period must be continuous.);<br />
- Applicants must have a basic knowledge of English or a laungage(s) spoken in the country(ies) where the proposed research and/or activities are conducted; and<br />
- Applicants must be based in the region/country and will continue to be so in the future. </p>
<p>The API Senior Fellowships are meant for those with an established track record as a public intellectual and who are at least 40 years of age, as of August 31, 2010. The project may be carried out for a minimum of one (1) month to a maximum of twelve (12) months. Up to four (4) API Participating Countries may be visited. </p>
<p>In addition to the general eligibility above, the applicants for the API Senior Fellowships must: </p>
<p>- Be 40 years of age or more as of August 31, 2010 (exceptions may be made);<br />
- Have the ability and experience to conduct research projects and/or professional activities in the Participating Countries other than the applicant&#8217;s native country or country of residence;<br />
- Undertake the proposed research projects and/or professional activities in up to four (4) of the Participating Countries, but in a country(ies) other than the applicant&#8217;s native country or country of residence;<br />
- Undertake the proposed research projects and/or professional activities for a continuous period of between one (1) and twelve (12) months (Note: The fellowship period must be continuous.); and<br />
- Have the ability, influence, and means to disseminate the results of their research projects and/or professional activities.</p>
<p>The API Fellowships are for those under 40 years of age, as of August 31, 2010. The project may be carried out for a minimum of four (4) months to a maximum of twelve (12) months. Up to two (2) API Participating Countries may be visited. </p>
<p>In addition to the general eligibility above, the applicants for the API Fellowships must:</p>
<p>- Be under the age of 40 as of August 31, 2010 (exceptions may be made);<br />
- Have the ability and desire to engage in research projects and/or professional activitites in the Participating Countries other than the applicant&#8217;s native or country of residence;<br />
- Have a strong potential to contribute to their field in the future; &#8211; Undertake the proposed research projects and/or professional activities for a consecutive period of between four (4) and twelve (12) months (Note: The fellowship period must be continuous.); and<br />
- Undertake the proposed research projects and/or professional activities in up to two (2) of the Participating Countries, but in a country(ies) other than the applicant&#8217;s native country or country of residernce. </p>
<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong><br />

4. Two Reference Letters<br />
If these are not in English, you must provide an English translation. These letters should be addressed to the API Fellowships Program, and be written within three (3) months before the deadline for submission.<br />
5. A Project Proposal<br />
Your project proposal must address to the following questions (in less than five (5) pages):<br />
What is your project? Please answer in detail.<br />
Why do you want to carry out this project?<br />
Why are you the right person to do this project? (mention relevant previous experience.)<br />
How are you going to do it? (methodology)<br />
What will be the outputs (research paper, video, performance, etc.) and how will you disseminate it?<br />
How does the project contribute to the goal of API?<br />
What are your past achievements and future plans as a public intellectual? (organization, advocacy, publication, etc.) How will this Fellowship help you? </p>
<p>Note 1: Project proposals written by persons other than the applicant him/herself are NOT acceptable.<br />
Note 2: Plagiarism in the project proposal is also strictly prohibited. </p>

FUNDING</strong></p>
<p>A stipend and housing allowance for the time spent overseas on the project, the amount varies by country;<br />
- International transportation costs, for one round trip only;<br />
