PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Berjaya Cares Foundation Scholarship Program provides qualified Filipino students an opportunity to attend courses at BERJAYA University College of Hospitality (BERJAYA UCH) in Malaysia, which specializes in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Tourism and Services Management.
COURSES AND THEIR DURATION
Foundation in Hospitality -1 Year
Non-degree first (1st) year preparation course that provides the fundamentals or basic principles of Hospitality, Tourism, Services, Mathematics, Study Skills and Critical Thinking,(preparatory subjects for a degree program.
Diploma in Culinary Art – 2.5 Years
Diploma in Hospitality Management – 2.5 Years
Diploma in Tourism and Travel Management – 2.5 Years
Degree program equivalent to an Associate in Arts Degree. The course is more focused on the practical application of the theories of Hospitality, Tourism, and Services management and oriented towards preparing the student for immediate employment.
Bachelor of Hospitality Management (Honours) - 3.5 Years
Bachelor of Tourism Management (Honours) – 3.5 Years
Bachelors Degree program in Hospitality and Tourism Management
WHO MAY APPLY AND WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma and passing grade in the College Scholastic Aptitude Test/Nationals College Entrance Examination. Students who passed their first year of a recognized Philippine undergraduate program will be considered for the Bachelors degree programs.
2. Certified Copy of Transcript of Records reflecting grades of at least 80% in any five (5) of relevant subjects, such as English, Mathematics, the Sciences, History, Geography, and the like. Pilipino and religion are not included.
3. Proof of active participation in school extra-curricular activities, sports, and socio-civic organizations will be an advantage.
4. Proof of proficiency in English.
5. Not older than 35 years of age at the start of the academic year.
6. Proof of financial need, such as endorsement by Parish Priest, certification by local Department of Social Welfare, certification of need by local Jaycees, Rotary, etc.
