PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND WHO MAY APPLY
This is an opportunity to spend one semester, one year, or more to study in one partner university from Europe for students and partner-university staff from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Philippines, India, Pakistan, to Universities of Nice, Ankara, Bordeaux, Enschede, Heidelberg, Santiago de Compostela, Sibiu, Padova, Warsaw.
If you feel that you belong to a vulnerable group (i.e. refugee, displaced population, disabled foreign students, economically disadvantaged groups and indigenous populations etc) this may even be a way to get support for a full
Bachelor or Master education in a field identified as being of special needs in your Asian country.
Emma is for funding Asia to Europe individual mobility flows (IMF) of academics from Partner Countries, fully sponsored by the EACEA run programme Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window.
EXPLANATION OF TERMS
Academic: Any person related to some university: student, graduate, staff.
IMF: Individual Mobility Flow, an academic visit to a partner university from the alternative part of the Eurasian continent. Exceptionally, during this campaign, only Asia to Europe IMFs are funded. Number of available IMFs and rules depend on level and TG.
Level: Bachelor, Master, Doctorate, Post-Doctorate, Staff
TG: Target Group, a name to characterize the group of people you may belong to. As academic, you are TG1 if you belong to a partner university, and you are TG2 if not. In any case, you may also be TG3, and EMMA could be the first time that you are happy to be TG3, as this means that you have a refugee status or are an asylum beneficiary, you have been the object of unjustified expulsion, you belong to a population targeted by a specific national policy.
Partner country: Any country that has a Partner University
SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
The University of Nice and its partners build up the EMMA-Consortium that runs this Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window (EM ECW) programme .
The EM ECW is a co-operation and mobility scheme in the area of higher education co-operation launched by Europe Aid cooperation Office and implemented by the Executive Agency Education, Audiovisual and Culture.
Funding is inclusive of all expanses for visa, travel, insurance, living, tuition-fees if required in the EMMA-EPU, depending on the level of the individual mobility flow.
REQUIREMENTS
(1) Copy of your passport, (2) Your vitae or better, your Europass(*), (3) Your project description and/or motivation letter (*), (4) if you are from Target Group 3 : your detailed case, (5) Recommendation (student)/invitation (PostDoc, Staff), (6) Additional recommendation, (7) A picture of you.
