Salzburg Global Seminar – Fellowships for Asian nominees
Deadline: October 1, 2008
The Salzburg Global Seminar is pleased to announce that it has received a generous grant from the European Commission to bring 20 qualified nominees from citizens of China, India, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam who are working in fields related to this session at universities, research institutes, and NGOs. Session 459, The Global Energy Fulcrum: Asian Development and International Response, will take place from November 30 to December 1, 2008, in Salzburg, Austria. Twenty scholarships will be awarded in all under this grant. The deadline for application is October 1, 2008.
The nominees will be asked to provide a 1-2 page statement explaining their work, research or professional interests, and they should also include an updated CV with their address, current position and affiliation, and citizenship.
This is a highly selective and competitive process, and final selections will be made by the Salzburg Global Seminar and will include such considerations as profession and gender as well as an overall assessment of the value to the individual and to the Seminar.
Seminars are convened at Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria (Europe) and bring together emerging and established leaders from around the world to debate critical global issues and propose possible solutions.
