Peace Corps Alumni Foundation for Philippine Development (PCAFPD)
Application process begins on June 1
Scholarship granted by the PCAFPD to incoming freshmen students from low income households. Support includes academic fees covering the entire duration of the undergraduate studies, reimbursement for text books, and stipend of around PhP5,000.00 per semester. Reimbursement for other education-related expenses will be on a case to case basis.
Applicants must graduate from high school by the end of the current school year, in the top 10% of his/her most recent academic class, have performed volunteer community service work, be committed to serving his/her community and/or country, and do not intend to work overseas after college graduation.
Required documents include a completed application form; personal statements; a copy of the most recent grade report; letter from high school principal containing certification of applicant’s rank in class and describing applicant’s extra-curricular activities, leadership potential, and overall suitability for the scholarship; a letter from the barangay captain, a religious leader, a teacher, a Peace Corps Volunteer, or a civic leader (not related to applicant) describing applicant’s leadership potential and experience in, and commitment to, community service; and the most recent Income Tax Return (or Certification for Exemption/non-filing of Income Tax) of the person financially responsible for the applicant.
