Students of the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City, Philippines may avail of academic and non-academic scholarships offered by the University.
ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
1. Students with Graduation Honors
Valedictorian and Salutatorian graduates from their secondary education are allowed tuition fee discounts.
Valedictorians – class of at least 50 – 100% discount for first two semesters
– class of less than 50- 100% discount for one semester
Salutatorians – class of at least 40 – 75% discount for one semester
For the succeeding school terms, they may avail of the discount in Rule 2.
2. Students with above-average grades
For all colleges except Law and Graduate School
Average of 1.0-2.0 with no grade less than 2.0 – 100% discount for one semester
Average of 1.21-1.30 with no grade less than 2.5 – 75% discount for one semester
Average of 1.31-1.40 with no grade less than 3.0 – 50% discount for one semester
College of Law
Freshmen
Summa or Magna Cum Laude from undergraduate – 100% discount
Cum Laude from undergraduate – 50% discount
Sophomore to Senior
Average grade not less than 1.45 in the previous school year – 100% discount
Average grade not less than 1.75 in the previous school year – 50% discount
3. Sponsored Scholarships
Details of scholarships from sponsors Metrobank Foundation, AD Gothong, SM Foundation, GSIS Scholarship, DOST Scholarship, PESFA, Alumni Scholarship are available with the Scholarship Office.
NON-ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
4. Athletic Scholarship
Athletic scholarship are discretionary in terms of qualifications and procedures based on the needs and resources of the school.
5. Band Members
“Band Members who desire to study in USJ-R are granted full scholarship. They continue to enjoy this privilege in the succeeding semester/year if they pass all their subjects.
Members who do not desire to study in USJ-R may recommend one of their relatives to enjoy full scholarship. The recommended relatives continue to enjoy this privilege in the succeeding year if they pass in all their subjects. Members who fail to meet the basic requirements may be granted partial or full scholarship only upon the recommendation of the Vice-President for Student Welfare.”

Editor-in-Chief – 100 % discount
Associate Editor – 75 % discount
Section Editor – 50 % discount
Circulation Manager – 50 % discount
Other Typists – 50 % discount
7. Dramatics Guild
Full scholarship privileges are granted to 10 deserving members of the USJ-R Dramatics Guild based on certain criteria.
8. Dance Troupe
Full scholarship privileges are granted to 10 deserving members of the USJ-R Adelante Dance Troupe are based on certain criteria.
9. Recollect Educational Assistance for Deserving Students (READS)
Students who are interested in this scholarship must submit the following: Photocopy of NSAT result – Percentile will be prescribed by the READS Coordinator (original copy has to be presented for verification); Photocopy of latest report card (no grade lower than 80 or 2.5); Photocopy of Latest Income Tax Return of parents or BIR certification that the income did not reach the taxable amount; Letter of application addressed to the READS Coordinator; and a copy of 1×1 ID picture.
SCHOLARSHIP BASED ON BLOOD RELATIONS
10. Brothers and Sisters
• * Two students – one with the lower tuition fee gets 10% discount
• * Three students- one with the lowest tuition fee gets 30% discount
• * Four students – one with the lowest tuition fee gets 50% discount
• * Five students – one with the lowest tuition fee gets 75% discount
• * Six students – one with the lowest tuition fee gets 100% discount
11. GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
The university honors all other kinds of scholarships offered by the government to qualified students.
