Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA)
Annual scholarship grant administered by SEARCA (“one of the ‘centers of excellence’ established by SEAMEO”) to agricultural scientists and professionals to obtain advanced studies leading to the MS (maximum 24 months) and PhD (maximum 36 months) degrees in agriculture, forestry, and related fields.
Scholars can choose to study in either of the following universities: University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Kasetsart University (KU), Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD), University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), Thammasat University, National University of Singapore, University of Indonesia, or Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
Support includes full academic costs, book and supplies allowance, thesis/ dissertation support, insurance, international return air travel, local travel, and a stipend of $400/month for food, lodging and incidental expenses.
Applicants must be aged 35 years and below, nationals of SEAMEO member countries, and regular employees of academic or research institutions or government agencies. “Proposed thesis research of applicants should focus on SEARCA’s priority thrusts.” View the SEARCA Five-Year Plan at http://web.searca.org
Required documents include SEARCA Scholarship Application Forms, University application forms, official TOR, a two-page write-up on agricultural competitiveness or natural resource management, research proposal, two copies of passport-size pictures, certification from a medical doctor that the applicant is in good physical and mental health condition and is fit to undertake graduate studies, certification of employment, and official endorsement from the employer.
Deadline for submission of applications is every July 30.
